Volunteer
We could not do this important work without our volunteers. EDVP is always in need of volunteers to staff our after-hours hotline, provide clerical assistance, support our clients, help plan fundraisers, and do much more. Plus, our volunteer program is flexible and fun! Your energy and compassion can make all the difference in the world to a victim of domestic violence. As an EDVP volunteer you will learn new skills, gain valuable information and have the satisfaction of working to end domestic violence. Volunteer Opportunities Direct Service Volunteers work directly with the victims of domestic violence that EDVP serves. EDVP’s comprehensive training program prepares volunteers to assist survivors of domestic violence in dealing with the traumatic impact of family violence. Our 20-hour training session includes domestic violence education, crisis intervention skills, working with children who have witnessed domestic violence and much more. Support Service Volunteers work with our agency in other areas. EDVP has opportunities to help with administration, fundraising, community education and much more. Learn More About Becoming an EDVP Volunteer Take some time to read through our volunteer information. Because of the nature of our work, it is important to ensure that our volunteers are well trained, responsible and sensitive to the issues of domestic violence. Note that all volunteer jobs require an orientation to EDVP and domestic violence. We ask that all EDVP volunteers attend training for multiple reasons, but most importantly so you will have the tools you need to have a rewarding volunteer experience. For more information on EDVP volunteer opportunities, contact Rachel Olsen, Volunteer Program Coordinator, 425-562-8840 x-229. |
